Reno Omokri wishes former president Goodluck Jonathan on his birthday

Nigerian Author Reno Omokri believes that Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is “literally the best President Nigeria has ever produced.” He feels so since Nigeria thrives with democracy, and according to Omokri, no other person, living or dead, has given Nigeria the democratic dividends that President Jonathan has.

To prove his point, the Nigerian author stated that Every election cycle produces more disputes taken to the various election petition tribunals than the last. The only elections that bucked that trend were the Jonathanian polls. In 2011, there was a 47% reduction in election petitions from the 2007 polls.

Further, he revealed that the situation was similar in the 2015 elections, but the “pre-Jonathan Era” returned following that. The Nigerian author believes that under Jonathan, Nigeria could host the elections peacefully because the former President believes “it is better to lose power at the cost of gaining honour than to lose honour at the cost of gaining power.”

The Nigerian Bestselling author Reno Omokri outlined the extensive achievements of the former President Escravos Gas to Liquid project, billed to provide 26% of Nigeria’s domestic gas supply, and much more for export.

According to Omokri, That legislation has been credited as the catalyst that saw Nigeria’s GDP overtake South Africa’s as Africa’s largest GDP.

Further, Omokri also mentioned several other accomplishments of the former Jonathan Government. The prime among these accomplishments is the Jonathan-inspired and signed Freedom of Information Act, which widened and deepened the democratic space in Nigeria and promoted transparency in government and the private sector.
