The world champion grabbed her title at the Alexander Stadium on Sunday during the women’s 100m hurdles final.

Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton became the second winner, and England’s Cindy Sember finished third behind Tobi Amusan.

Tobi Amusan, the World champion and world record holder in the Games, also became the only Nigerian track and field athlete to grab a gold medal in two editions of the Games.

This was only her second race event since she made the World Record in Oregon, United States, in July.

With the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Tobi Amusan has now become the only Nigerian athlete in history to complete a grand hit of titles at the continental, Commonwealth and world levels after grabbing gold at the 22nd African Athletics championships in Mauritius in June as well as the World Athletics championships in Oregon, USA last month.
