The Nigerian Army has caught seven terrorists and gunmen, locally known as bandits, rescuing two abducted victims in various operations around Nasarawa, Plateau and Kaduna States.

On Friday, August 5, Major General Bernard Onyeuko, the Director of Defence Media Operations, in a statement, stated that the troops of Operations Whirl Stroke and Safe Haven persist in dominating their areas of operations.

Onyeuko stated that on July 29, the troops had led a clearance operation at Tse-Ibro, Tse-Igbakyor, Akwana and Ayinbe Villages in the Logo LGA of Nasarawa State and contacted the terrorists.

He said that two of them, Usman Yau (28) and Danladi Selfa (23), were arrested with gunshot wounds at a private hospital.

Onyeuka added that Onyeuka added that one AK 47 Rifle, and one Magazine with 13 rounds of 7.62mm unique, among other items, were recovered.

He revealed that a reported bandit collaborator, Moses Aindigh (27) and a kidnapper IIiyasu Mohammed (37), were captured from Kukyro village in Nasarawa LGA on the same day.

As per him, all arrested individuals have been sent to relevant authorities.

Moreover, troops of Operation Safe Haven on August 3 and August 4 captured three suspected kidnappers; Usman Hamina, Umar Zakari and Haruna Umaru, after trustable intelligence at Fuskar Mata villa in Bassa LGA of Kaduna State.

The suspects admitted to having been involved in kidnappings in various LGAs.

Onyeuko further stated that troops on August 4, Thursday, recovered 100 vandalised rail sleepers from a white Peugeot Boxer vehicle in Plateau State’s Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

He verified that the troops also performed a rescue operation at Kasuwa Ali from Gindiri District in Mangu LGA and rescued two abducted civilians, Uchenna Edoga (25) and Ebuka Nnadi (30).

As per him, the rescued individuals have been sent back to their families.
