Ike, a lawmaker and former deputy president of the Nigerian Senate and her wife Beatrice, an accountant, came to the Old Bailey on Friday evening for a bail hearing.

This has come over a month after she was detained alongside her husband by the police officials of the United Kingdom upon charges of human trafficking as well as organ harvesting.

Beatrice was captured alongside her husband during last month, June 23, by the police officials who claimed that they tried to traffic a minor to harvest his organ illegally.

The claim that the reported victim was a minor child who was later disproved after passports, national ID and other documents which showed the person as the age of 21.

But still, the Ekweremadus stayed behind bars since that allegation and were not granted bail after appearing in court on July 7.

The matter was delayed till August for further hearing before the recent decision to free the wife of the Senator as he still remains in custody.

The Common Serjeant of London, Richard Marks, stated in his judgement on Monday evening that the position is that I have granted bail to Beatrice subject to some rather stringent conditions, but I have rejected to grant bail to Ike.

The court has not immediately said the strict terms set for Beatrice or when Ekweremadu would be set free before adjourning the case until August 4.
