Osun State Police ensure protection of citizens throughout Eid-el-Kabir

The Osun State Police Command has ensured that it would persist in working diligently to guarantee the protection of human lives and property of the whole citizenry before, during and after Eid-el-Kabir.

The development came as the Command assured that robust security mechanisms had been implemented to ensure peaceful celebration of the Eid festival.

In a signed statement given by Yemisi Opalola, the Osun Police Command spokesman, on Friday, July 8, in Osogbo, the Commissioner of Police Julius Alawari Okoro vowed that the Command would persist in serving his statutory duty of securing lives and property.

While desiring all Muslim communities a peaceful and joyous celebration, the Command asked the residents of the state to work themselves in the ambit of the law and go about with their legal and lawful duties.

He further stated that they are to inform any questionable movement to the Police and voluntarily give quick and useful information in case of any infringement of law via the below-displayed numbers: 08067788119, 08039537995, 08123823981 and 08075872433.

On the other hand, the Osun State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) disclosed that it has deployed over 1,457 police officers and men to prevent crimes and ensure that there is proper protection during the celebrations in the state.

While making this known on Friday, July 8, in Osogbo, Sunday Agboola, the NSCDC Osun Commandant, in a statement that was signed by Atanda Olabisi, the Command spokesman, restated the preparedness of the officers to set up operational strategies for fulfilling the mandates.

He further said that all prayer grounds would be provided effectively with proper security to prevent any state of crime.

Agboola called in the residents to look over security as everyone’s business and, therefore, must contact any security agency in cases of any emergency or suspicious activities.
