The hospital described that the payment of the new charge is mandatory because of the harsh effects of a rise in the price of electricity tariffs and diesel used to generate power in plants by the hospital.

The memo explained that the high price of electricity and the rising cost of diesel was behind this decision.

The memo titled was signed by the UCH administrator, Wole Oyeyemi.

Oyeyemi signed and verified the memo on behalf of the hospital’s chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, and Chief Medical Director.

It further explained that all patients who want to access the tertiary healthcare facility must deliver the N1,000 daily.

The memo stated that the hospital had been undergoing power outages for some time.

It further revealed that the hospital is presently facing issues like the high cost of electricity tariffs and inflation in the price of diesel.

It then said that these issues pushed the hospital to take this decision and ask patients to pay the money daily.

Following the recent power outage in the hospital and the high price of electricity tariff along with inflation in the price of diesel which has restricted stable power supply, the management decided to consider steps that can further help to facilitate perfect service delivery in the hospital.

The hospital then requested all its patients to kindly implement the approval with immediate effect to ensure the smooth working of the hospital.
