However, Ezeh highlighted that they had been given over to the police for a thorough investigation and possible prosecution.

As per him, a young man recognised as Wisdom Kalu Onu, a citizen of Abia State, was caught on Thursday, June 30, by the security personnel of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka for sabotaging electrical installations found on the Campus premises, that belong to the power distribution company. He stated he was later handed over to Nsukka Urban Police Station for appropriate investigation.

Ezeh, who explained the hideous experience the company has been going through at the hands of vandals, stated the company’s resolve to persist in working with major stakeholders to assure that the elements performing the cruel act were caught and brought to book.

He stated that no day had passed without the company getting a report of an electrical installation that had been attacked.

As per the company’s spokesperson, more than twenty transformers were attacked by vandals around the company’s network during the last three weeks, with four of the vandals being caught.

All the suspects were sent to the respective Police Stations for further investigation.

While urging the customers to be more engaged in securing these installations that are serving them, Ezeh praised the Security Personnel, Vigilante groups, the President General, and his team for capturing the suspects.

Ezeh restated that these vandals were capitalising on the low availability occasioned by the drop in quantum of power generation experienced in the sector several times, which had negatively impacted the company’s daily energy allocation.
