Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, has given the social media promotion of Khalistani Separatist and Leader of Waris Punjab De Amritpal Singh. The Intelligence agency has received funding from several indirect sources in Canada, the United Kingdom (UK) and other countries to boost the social media activity of the Khalistan activist.
Information cited by CNN News 18 suggests that the ISI uses several social media sources, such as Facebook and Instagram, to upload images depicting the purported suppression of Sikhs in India.
The posts and images are advertised, and the ads can be seen in countries like Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany.
CNN News 18 reported that the agencies had targeted the ads featuring aristocracies of the Indian Sikh Community towards the people of the Sikh Community from 18-25 years of age. Further, the agencies involved in the social media campaign have designed the ads in such a way that the ads are visible to people with Sikh surnames like Singh and Kaur.
The ads show targeted images and videos showing the Sikh population’s atrocities. The ads sell garments and car accessories featuring images of these atrocities.
The Waris Punjab De founder is receiving a boost in social media activity in his favour. As per the sources of CNN-News, 18 social media accounts have received support in the form of funding from various sources across the globe.
The social media post features blast images and scenes of repression of the Indian Sikh Community into the systems of their target audience. The posts aim to change the mindset of the Sikh youth and bring them in line with the mission of Amritpal.
The Intelligence sources further suggest that the people involved in the social media campaign are getting millions of dollars in funding from various sources.
CNN News 18 reports suggest that the social media team of Amritpal is working on projecting him to be like the militant leader like Bhindrawale concerning his mannerisms and style of walking. Meanwhile, the intelligence sources suggest that the comments and engagement on social media posts are not organic.
As per the intelligence sources, The language used in these comments is similar to the language used in Pakistan’s Punjab Province. The social media users in India can access these posts only by using VPN with locations set to Canada, Germany, or the UK
