Serbian club Vojvodina is witnessing a rising star in Nigerian forward Bamidele Yusuf, whose exceptional form in the 2024/25 season is quickly earning him recognition among Africa’s best players in Europe.
At just 23 years old, Yusuf is making his mark in the Serbian SuperLiga with his remarkable performances, most recently scoring a historic four goals in Vojvodina’s 4-1 victory over Nozi Pazar on November 29.
The four-goal effort was a standout achievement in the young striker’s career, as he became only the second Nigerian player to score four goals in an away match for Vojvodina, following Vincent Eze’s similar feat against Cukaricki.
However, while Eze’s performance included a penalty, Yusuf’s goals were all from open play, underlining his skill and clinical finishing ability.
His goals came in quick succession during the match, with strikes in the 19th, 66th, 75th, and 78th minutes, showcasing his ability to deliver when it matters most.
Yusuf’s incredible performance has propelled him to the forefront of the club’s offensive efforts this season, bringing his tally to eight goals and two assists in the current campaign.
His ability to score consistently has been a key factor in Vojvodina’s attacking play, even though the team currently sits in seventh place in the league standings.
Despite their position in the table, Yusuf remains optimistic about the club’s prospects for the remainder of the season. He is confident that Vojvodina’s ambitions to secure a European spot next season are still within reach.
Additionally, the club is making significant strides in the Serbian Cup, further bolstering the hope for a successful season.
Speaking about his recent achievement, Yusuf expressed his joy in the win and the significance of his four-goal performance. “Above all, I am very happy because we won,” he said in an interview with the club’s website.
“This was an extremely important match for us, we prepared well, and we were maximally focused on claiming all the three points. We knew what we wanted from the first minute, and we knew how to reach that goal.”
Yusuf was quick to credit his teammates and coach for their roles in his success. “Of course, it means a lot that I managed to score four goals. I wouldn’t be able to achieve that without the help of my teammates and the coach,” he said.
“Never in my career have I scored four goals in a match. The feeling is unbelievable. I don’t plan to stop now, I want to contribute to the team’s success even more.”
Yusuf’s confidence and determination reflect his ambitions for both himself and the team.
As he continues to improve his game and develop under the guidance of Vojvodina’s coaching staff, it’s clear that the Nigerian forward is determined to take his career to new heights.
His recent performances are just the beginning, and with his eyes set on further success in Europe, Bamidele Yusuf is undoubtedly a player to watch in the coming months.
