St Kitts and Nevis to host sports events at both islands

The Sports departments at St Kitts and Nevis are organizing sporting competitions for their respective citizens. The Sports Departments of both islands announced their programmes through their social media accounts.

In St Kitts, the sports department is hosting the Public Primary School Championships in the Basseterre Zone of St Kitts and Nevis. The Sports department invited All the primary schools in the zone to participate in the sporting event. The Sports department of St Kitts will host the event at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium on Thursday, January 19, 2023. 

As per the update shared by the social media page of the department of Sports, the event will start at 2:00 PM. The organizers have also specified entry fees for the children and adults who would come to watch the tournament. 

The Participating schools are:

  • Irish Town Primary School
  • Tucker Clarke Primary School
  • Beach Allen Primary School
  • Dr William Connor Primary School

Meanwhile, the Nevis Department of Sports Director shared the update regarding the sporting event on his social media account. He wrote that he was very excited to start the new sports term. 

In Nevis, the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School is organizing their annual relay festival. The following schools will be competing in the relay:

  • Nevis Academy 
  • Charlestown Primary School
  • Ivor Walters Primary School
  • Joycelyn Liburd Primary School 
  • Maude Crosse Preparatory School 
  • St. James Primary School
  • Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School 
  • St. Thomas’/Lowlands Primary School
  • Violet O Jeffers-Nicholls Primary School 
  • Montessori Academy Nevis
  • Cecele Browne Integrated School 

The organizers have specified a fee of $5 for children’s entry and $10 for adult access to the event. 

The Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School will host the relay on Sunday, January 22 at the Nevis Athletic Stadium. The event will start at 1:30. 

The relay event will have 4x100M, 4x150M, 4x200M, 4x300M, and 4x400M races, medleys and mixed relays.
