Nigerian Bestselling Author and social media influencer Reno Omokri believes that couples should make proposals (for marriage and relationships) privately. He has taken to his Facebook account to share his views. This opinion came shortly after the video of a (heartbroken) bride-to-be going into the Lagos Lagoon.

Omokri stated in the social media post that he feels youth must not get influenced by the western culture to plan and execute proposals in a public setting.

He believes that youth learn these things from Hollywood and western movies. However, only some of the items shown in the film are correct. The Nigerian Author and social media influencer Reno Omokri believe couples should not implement everything thoughtlessly.

The author advises that if a couple proposes to the other party in private and there is a disturbance in the relationship, the couple can sort it out in private. However, if the couple proposes publically, as glorified in “Hollywood films”, the consequent heartbreak also becomes challenging.

In the words of Omokri, “if you do public proposals in front of family and friends, a breakup could be very devastating and less manageable!”

Consequently, Omokri has advised that Propose in secret. Plan your marriage in secret. Then you can marry in public!

In support of his views, Social Media Influencer Ompokri shared the video of Adetutu Adedokun, featuring the now-deceased woman’s proposal video. The video featured the woman, Adedokun and her fiance.

The proposal took place in a public setting. Some family members of the couple even shot the video of the couple. In the video, the woman, who is now deceased, looked surprised and happy about receiving the proposal.

At the start of the video, Omokri issued a warning stating that it is essential for men to ensure how they treat a woman. He wrote that some of the women might be sensitive and fragile.
