The Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, has made a significant contribution to the security efforts in Kano State by donating 1,000 motorcycles to the Kano State Police Command.
The donation, aimed at boosting the police’s operational capacity, was made on Saturday at the command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
In his remarks during the presentation ceremony, Jibrin emphasized that the donation was designed to support the Nigeria Police Force in its ongoing efforts to maintain law and order within the state.
He expressed his commitment to ensuring that the police have the necessary resources to effectively carry out their constitutional duties.
“This generous gesture is meant to support the Nigeria Police in discharging their constitutional duties of maintaining law and order,” Jibrin stated.
He further highlighted that the initiative was a demonstration of his dedication to enhancing the security landscape in Kano State and across the country.
The Deputy Senate President also acknowledged the importance of collective efforts in tackling the security challenges facing Nigeria. He reiterated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is focused on addressing all forms of insecurity across the nation.
However, Jibrin stressed that security is a shared responsibility that requires collaboration between the government, security agencies, and the public.
In addition to his donation of motorcycles, Jibrin pledged to continue providing support to the Nigeria Police, helping to improve their operational capacity and efficiency.
His contributions reflect a consistent effort to bolster security measures in the state and beyond.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, expressed his appreciation for the donation, recognizing its potential to enhance the state’s security infrastructure.
Garba assured the public that the motorcycles would be utilized judiciously to strengthen the police force’s ability to maintain peace and order.
“This remarkable gesture demonstrates your commitment to enhancing our operational efficiency and capacity to serve the good people of Kano State,” said Commissioner Garba, thanking Jibrin for his ongoing support.
The donation is not Jibrin’s first act of philanthropy towards the Kano State Police. In 2023, he donated 22 operational vehicles to the force, further underlining his commitment to improving security in the region.
The Chairman of the Eminent Persons Forum, Mukhtar Gashash, also commended Jibrin for his foresight and generosity, calling the donation a clear demonstration of his dedication to supporting the Nigerian Police.
Jibrin’s continued support for the police reflects his broader commitment to enhancing public safety in Kano and the country as a whole.
The donation of the motorcycles is seen as a timely and practical contribution, reinforcing the efforts of law enforcement agencies to respond more effectively to security challenges.
As Nigeria grapples with various security issues, initiatives like Jibrin’s provide critical support to law enforcement, enabling them to operate more efficiently in the face of mounting challenges.
