Another incident of Kidnapping for ransom and subsequent murder has come to light for the Southwest Region of Cameroon. The victim of the crime was a 23-year-old woman Liengu Louise travelling from her home town, Bangem, in the Kupe Muanenguba Division of the Southwest Region for Yaoundé.
Reports suggest that the woman, Liengu Louise, was travelling to the city to attend a job interview. After she arrived at the agency in Mvan, the twenty-three-year-old got abducted. The woman left her home for the job interview on February 2. Since then, she was allegedly kept in the custody of her abductors. Louise spent six weeks in captivity with her abductors. The perpetrators behind the crime held her hostage for ransom.
They demanded ransom from her Louise’s family, which the family paid. However, the criminals killed their hostage and abandoned her body in a bush in the Mvan region. The incident is under investigation by the members of the law and order authorities. The culprits remain unidentified. They had reportedly ceased communication with the family after they received the ransom. The culprit’s sister informed the media sources that the woman’s abductors killed her despite receiving the ransom.
The culprits, however, killed the woman and abandoned her lifeless body in a bush in the neighbourhood. The police discovered her body on Tuesday, March 14. Meanwhile, this is the second incident of murder in the Mvan region of Yaoundé. Before the death of the 23-year-old girl, another 21 year old died in the same neighbourhood as the woman mentioned before.
The incidents of abductions and crime have increased in the country. The incident is an addition to the series of similarly executed crimes, Kidnapping and murders in the neighbourhood. Law enforcement agencies are struggling to contain the increasing incidents of crime and insecurities in the Mvan region of Yaoundé state in Cameroon. The
