Police officers in the Bauchi state area of Nigeria killed two suspected kidnappers in a crossfire between the two parties. They also arrested eight other individuals who are terrorizing victims.
Mamman Sanda, The Commissioner of Police, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing in his office.
He stated that the authorities recorded their successes over suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminals in various operations launched by the Command this year.
The Commissioner of Police further stated that on August 23, 2022 in one of the operations, the authorities arrested suspected kidnappers. A team of detectives attached to the Command arrested the individuals.
According to him, the suspects were involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and Cattle rustling.
The commissioner of Police, Sanda, stated that the suspected kidnappers terrorized residents of Alkaleri, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro and Toro Local Government Areas of the state and some parts of Plateau State of Nigeria.
Further, The commissioner of police informed the media and the press that the operatives of the Bauchi Police Command in Nigeria arrested the six suspects at Sabon-Gida village Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area and Guram Wase LGA, Plateau State.
The suspects arrested for the kidnapping were all male. The commissioner of police revealed the names of the suspects,
First was Adamu Aliyu. He is 35 years old. His alias is Do something. He is a member of a vigilante group.
Another is Adamu Abdullahi, 35. He is a resident of Guram village Plateau State and a vigilante group member.
Third is Longnan Bali, 60, alias Guguwa of Guram village Plateau State, a member of a vigilante group,
Other names were Hassan Muhammed, 32, Yakubu Muhammadu, 25 and Umar Abdullahi, 34yrs.
The Commissioner of Police revealed, “The suspects mentioned above, alleged to have criminally conspired with others while armed with AK-47 rifles, Pistols and other dangerous weapons.
They carried out a series of Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Banditry and Cattle Rustling along Alkaleri, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bagoro, and Toro LGAs Bauchi State.”
Their criminal activities also extended to the neighbouring towns, including Wase, Dengi Kanam, Langtang north, Kanke and Mangu LGA, Plateau State, respectively.
