As reported by CNET litigation has been filed in US court which accused Apple of making wrong claims with respect to the display screen sizes and pixel counts of iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max series. Price of iPhone X series in Indian Rupee is 74000/ and iPhone XS starts at ₹ 94,322/- and iPhone XS Max cost in India is ₹ 102,381.
The case was filed on Friday in the District Court of North California accusing Apple of false claims about screen sizes of their iPhone X and XS series. The allegations are that the tech giant has counted non-screen areas as the corners and notches in the screen size thus lied about the screen size. Apple has it’s headquartered in Cupertino, California. As per reports, the two plaintiffs who have filed the litigation are asking for class-action status against Apple.
Apple has been marketing the new iPhone series with the tagline “all screen,” which is a false claim alleges the litigation. The complaint alleges that for iPhone X Apple claims screen size of 5.8 inches, but in actuality, it is only 5.6875 inches. According to the plaintiff iPhone X series also have less resolution than what is being advertised by Apple, the CNET report said. Apple has yet not replied to the request for comment. It is also alleged that iPhone 8 Plus has better-screen quality than iPhone X. Apple claimed screen resolution of 2436×1125 pixels for iPhone X, but that is also false. The iPhone X do not have true red, green and blue subpixels. It is not the first time that Apple has been sued for false claims. In June month a lawsuit was filed against Apple which claimed that Apple watch’s screen has a propensity to “crack, shatter or detach from the body of the watch.”
