Cameroon: GBTHS Limbe students create refrigerator for Open Door

The Southwest Region of Cameroon hosted an Open Door to showcase the boundless talent and genius that the students and youngsters of the area possess. Several students from the various technical high schools in the region participated in the competition. The innovation presented by the group from GBTHS Limbe stood out among the several presentations.

The group of students from the GBTHS created an innovative refrigerator for Open Door Day on march 9, 2023. The students claimed they made the refrigerator completely from the start to the end. They contended that Unlike the normal refrigerators used by most Cameroonian households, their innovation functions as an air conditioner and a fridge.

Among several ingenious products showcased by technical school students in the Southwest Region, the refrigerator presented another proof of the innovation, creativity and genius of the students of Cameroon. The reports of such genius creations come from various parts of the country.

According to the creators of the refrigerator, the gadget absorbs all heat from items put into it and keeps them cool at an above-zero temperature level. The students claimed it cost them nearly 800,000 francs to produce it. However, they added that if they receive the right pieces of equipment from the responsible authorities, the students can make the refrigerator cheaper and better for use in a regular household.

Notably, with their creation, the students of GBTHS, Limbe, seek to make their gadgets in the country. They have taken a step in the direction and want to give the people of Cameroon a message of self-sufficiency. They stated that, “If we are provided with the equipment, we can do things we can be able to produce our own components here in Cameroon. Saying this, they added that the team of students produced this cold store without the help of the white man and all those people outside.
