Reports of a violent incident have emerged in a community in Cameroon. The student of a High school in Edéa, Cameroon chopped his friend’s arm after the two engaged in a argument with one another. The victim was also a student at the same school Lycée d’Ossombah. The victim, popularly known as “Socrates” is currently in a hospital and reciving treatment.
The sources suggest that Socrates’s mother found her child in a pool of his own blood after hearing sounds of screams, went out to investigate what was happening between the two friends. She discovered the child severely injured and rushed him to the hospital.
The argument between the two boys happened on Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2023. The violent act took place on the same day and the boy is currently admitted in a hospital for treatment.
Reportedly, the problem originated when the two boys decided to find out who among them was the “Most Handsome Guy in the Neighbourhood”. The victim, Socrates emerged as the winner of the contest. He was later on attacked in his house by his friend. The friend in question remains unidentified and driven by jealousy with a machete.
Reportedly, after the culprit cut the student, Socrates’s arm, his next target area was to cut his neck. However, he missed the target and instead split his forehead. After the incident, the mother of the victim heard some screams. Following this, she rushed to discover her son dying in a pool of blood.
The student is currently between struggling between life and death in the local hospital in Edéa, Cameroon. Meanwhile the perpetrator of the act, escaped the scene of crime and is still on the run. Authorities are investigating the incident of crime.
In the recent weeks, various areas of cameroon have reported an increasing number of criminal incidents and murders. The authorities have cautioned the people of the community to excersise precaution against perpetrators.
