Chad announces to open Consulate General in Moroccan city of Dakhla

The Republic of Chad has made an announcement that it would shortly going to open a Consulate General in the Moroccan Saharan city of Dakhla.

Noting to the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “The Republic of Chad on Wednesday has informed Moroccan authorities about its decision.”

The statement has clearly mentioned that, “The Chadian authorities added this decision translates the brotherly ties existing between King Mohammed VI & President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno.”

The statement mentioned that the decision shows the quality of bilateral relations and confirms Chad’s support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, territorial integrity and national unity.

The overall number of consular representations set up in the Moroccan Sahara is constantly rising.

The recent consulate General, which was inaugurated in Dakhla on August 31, was that of Cape Verde that brought up the overall figure of consular representations in the Moroccan cities of Dakhla and Laayoune to 27.
