As per many eyewitnesses who shared what they saw on their Twitter handles, members of Burna’s associates fired a gun inside a nightclub after a dispute with some other people.

The incident occurred around 4 am on June 8 when Burna Boy and his associates went to the nightclub.

The eyewitnesses further said that the singer was in the club’s VIP section with three other women when he saw another woman in the club with her husband.

Burna Boy then asked his associate, Inspector Ibrahim, to invite the woman to join him in the VIP section, which caused anger among his husband.

However, the lady’s husband was said to have criticized the singer, insisting that it was impolite for any man to make advances on his wife.

After a few minutes, Burna Boy again made advances on the same woman. This created rage among his husband and friends, who were also at the club during the incident.

A senior policeman stated, “As things were getting heated, Ibrahim got out his service pistol and shot several times while Burna Boy was chuckling.”

27-year-old Lawrence was shot during this process in the thigh, while his friend Tolu was hit in the head and is currently being treated at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

A top source at the Lagos State Commissioner of Police office stated that Burna Boy had reportedly taken a flight without informing his police officers. He only did a videocall to tell them that he had travelled to Spain for some work. All his police escorts have been detained and are presently at the Command headquarters.
