Obasanjo stated, “Passion signifies madness; that you are mad about Nigeria. I’m, and I have no apology for that as I have no other nation I can call my own.”

“I have no other country where I can say that ‘Yes, I have come to live here’. Passion implies being mad about Nigeria; having a touch of madness.”

The former president also states on four factors responsible for the low level of socioeconomic and political development despite various opportunities that have offered themselves for actual development.

The primary reason for a low level of development is due to a lack of vision, passion, knowledge and innovation.

On insecurity, Obasanjo said that Nigeria could overcome its several challenges with the right leader who is willing to take tough decisions.

This is even as he asked all Nigerians to be ready to make some sacrifices to put the nation back on the right path.

He also added, “It is an unbearable situation for you, obviously, and also for me. I want to stress that the Nigerian situation will only be put right by Nigerians at the fore of our situation, as bad as it is. So, Nigerians have to brace themselves up to do what needs to be done to put Nigeria back on the correct path.”

In his comments, Hayatudeen stated even as a military Head of the State, ex Prez Obasanjo brought about several policy reforms that altered the nation.

He said he was thankful to the former leader for acting as host to him and his entourage.
